Norwegian Forest cats have a long, silky, spun coat. Although they are descendants of the Scandanavian forest cats some 4,000 years ago, their coats require less maintenance than other long haired breeds. These cats were believed to have traveled with the Vikings as protectors of grain on land and sea.
