The Tibetan Spaniel resembles the Pekingese, but with a slightly longer face. These perky dogs were prized in Tibet as gifts for royals. The Tibetan Spaniels like to sit in high places and it may be because they were once used as watch dogs. They would sit on the high walls of Tibetan Monasteries and would bark at the sign of any intruders.
